Comparison

Commure vs WA\

Published July 24, 2026Updated July 24, 2026

Summary

Commure is a serious platform. It reports more than 75,000 clinicians across 3,000 or more sites of care, it raised $70m at a $7bn valuation in May 2026, and after absorbing Augmedix it pairs an ambient scribe with revenue cycle automation at real scale.

It is built for the American revenue cycle. Denials, coding and claims are the centre of the product, and its ambient scribe leads to that. If you are a US health system billing insurers at volume, Commure is a rational choice.

WA\ is built for the private clinic and for the UK. The note, the letters, the coding against Medical Decision Making, and the front desk on one record. Published price, live this week, no procurement.

You can be running this week. No RCM integration project, no minimum term. Fourteen days free, then one published price.

What Commure is good at

Scale and the revenue cycle. Commure operates across more than 3,000 sites and embeds in the daily work of tens of thousands of physicians. Its own reporting puts practices generating more than 10 percent additional revenue through optimised billing.

Its scribe, through the Augmedix acquisition, has a long clinical record. Commure also ships dictation into any field, which many clinicians want alongside ambient capture. None of this is in doubt.

Where the fit breaks for a private clinic

The product assumes an American billing environment. Prior authorisation, claim denials and payer reconciliation are the spine, and a UK private clinic bills patients and a small number of insurers rather than a US payer network. Most of the platform value is aimed at a problem a London clinic does not have.

It is an enterprise platform. The scribe tiers are published, but the wider platform is a sales conversation and an onboarding project. For a four-doctor practice that is a commitment, not a signup.

What the evidence says

Ambient scribes have one randomised trial. It cut note-writing time by 9.5 percent, about 41 seconds an encounter, across roughly 72,000 encounters, and neither arm reduced after-hours record time. That result applies to the scribe function across the category, Commure and WA\ included.

Vendor accuracy figures such as 99.4 percent are internal and measured differently by each company. They are useful directionally and they are not a trial. We say the same about our own numbers.

The half a scribe does not reach

A scribe covers the consultation. It does not answer the phone, book the patient, take a deposit or backfill a cancellation. In a health system a different team owns that. In a private clinic it is the same person, often between patients.

WA\ puts the front desk and the consultation on one record, so the enquiry, the booking, the note and the follow-up letter are one thread rather than four tools.

Which one

If you are a US health system and the revenue cycle is your problem, Commure is built for you and we would say so.

If you are a private clinic, and especially a UK one, the American billing machinery is weight you will not use. WA\ is published, live this week, and it covers the letters, the coding and the front desk rather than the note alone.

What we are not claiming

We are not at Commure's scale and we do not run a revenue cycle platform. For a large US provider billing payers at volume, Commure is the stronger system and we would not pretend otherwise. Our claim is narrower and, for a private clinic, more useful.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Commure Scribe cost?

Commure publishes scribe tiers. A free ScribeCore tier, and a paid tier reported around $708 per clinician per year, anchored against a higher list figure. The wider Commure platform, including revenue cycle automation, is quoted through sales rather than published. Confirm any figure with Commure directly. WA\ publishes its price on one page, with a 14 day free trial and no minimum term.

Is Commure a good fit for a UK private clinic?

It is a strong platform built around the American revenue cycle, which a UK private clinic does not run. Most of the platform value sits in prior authorisation, claim denials and payer reconciliation, none of which map to private-pay billing in London. The scribe itself would work, but you would be buying a US billing engine you cannot use. WA\ is built for the private clinic and for UK GDPR and DTAC.

Should I buy Commure or WA\?

It depends on which buyer you are. For a US health system where denials and coding at payer scale are the problem, Commure is built for that and it is the right purchase. For a private clinic, and especially a UK one, WA\ covers the note, the letters, the coding and the front desk on one record, it is published, and it is live this week. The two products are sold to different worlds.
